Keith Kato

Chair

Keith is a practicing architect on the island of Kauaʻi. His professional experience includes various urban and rural projects focused on placemaking, education, and housing throughout New Mexico and Hawaiʻi. In 2021, Keith moved back to Kauaʻi to be closer to family and founded Studioreef, an independent architectural and design studio.

Mikal Moranz, KPAA Board Member

Mikal Moranz

Vice Chair

Mikal is a dedicated financial advisor and lifelong Kauai resident committed to sustainable community planning, local wealth preservation, and economic resilience. He developed the Financial Architecture framework, an initiative designed to provide practical financial roadmaps that help local families navigate housing affordability and stay on-island. His experience combines a background in economics, fiduciary responsibility, and active civic leadership to support long-term strategic planning and community action across Kauai.

Joanna McCormack Jardine

Treasurer

Joanna was born and raised in Chicago and earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. After moving to Kaua'i in 2014, she recently earned her Master of Social Work from the Thompson School of Social Work & Public Health at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa.

Sarah Dooley, KPAA Board Member

Sarah Dooley

For over two decades, Sarah’s work has centered on supporting children and families across traditional and alternative learning environments. Her life and work are driven by the belief that when parents and children are supported and equipped to thrive, communities are strongest. Sarah holds a Master’s degree in Education, a B.S. in Social Work, and a B.F.A. in Modern Dance.

Cameron Kruse

Cameron works with Kaua`i Island Utility Cooperative (KIUC) as a Engineering and Technology Manager. During his time at KIUC, he has worked toward transforming the grids renewable generation from 8% renewable to 70% renewable in 2021. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Hawaii.

Alan Williams, KPAA Board Member

G. Alan Williams

Alan is a licensed Social Worker serving individuals and families on Kauai through both dialysis and home health care. He currently practices as a facility social worker, supporting patients navigating complex medical, emotional, and financial challenges.

Milani Pimental, KPAA Board Member

Milani Pimental

Milani serves as the Executive Director of Kaua'i Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit housing developer and builder dedicated to creating truly affordable homeownership opportunities for individuals and families on the island of Kaua'i. With over 25 years of experience in fund development, Milani provides a position of knowledge and guidance to KPAA's work.

Regina Carvalho, KPAA Board Member

Regina Carvalho

Regina is President of the Zonta Club of Kaua'i Board, and an advisory member of the Kaua'i Leadership Council for Catholic Charities Hawai'i. She is deeply rooted in Kaua'i, and cares passionately for local families and their wellbeing.

Pat Griffin, KPAA Board Member

Pat Griffin

Pat L. Griffin has been a leader in Kauaʻi design, history, preservation and community planning since moving to the island in 1977. After co-founding Griffin Noyes Associates with her husband, Tommy Noyes, she authored local history books and helped produce 100 Entertainments of Kauaʻi. As the founding president of the Līhuʻe Business Association, for 16 years she championed thoughtful planning and led efforts to preserve the historic Līhuʻe Post Office and Puʻuʻōpae Bridge.

Allison Young, KPAA Board Member

Allison Young

Allison was born in Seoul, Korea and grew up in the Washington, DC area. She has worked in various community health roles as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Armenia, environmental health advocate, Community Health Worker, certified massage therapist, and Public Information Officer at the Frederick County Health Department in Maryland. She moved to Kauaʻi in 2020 and currently works in Communications and Public Relations at Kauaʻi Island Utility Cooperative. She is an alum of Leadership Kauaʻi and received an academic subject certificate in Hawaiian Studies from Windward Community College.
